For courses starting in 2023/2024, your application should be with us at Ted at least 2 weeks before your chosen universities deadlines – depending on what courses you apply for. If your completed application – including all your personal details and your academic reference – is submitted by the deadline, it is guaranteed to be considered.

If you're applying through your school/college, please check their deadline, and follow this to get your application in on time. This gives them enough time to read your application, check you've entered your information correctly, write and attach your reference, and submit your application to us.

Apply as soon as possible: As offers are made and places fill up, some courses may only have vacancies for students from certain locations. It’s therefore really important that you apply by the appropriate deadlines as not all applications after are guaranteed to be considered.

You'll need to leave enough time to complete your application, resolve any queries and make sure it reaches us by the deadline.

After you find courses and you’re ready to apply, we’ll explain everything in more detail, but here’s a brief overview:

1. Register on Ted, complete your profile and verify your BVN.
2. Start and complete the loan application.
3. Get a guarantor and get them to complete the guarantor form

You are eligible for student finance, provided you meet some basic criteria:

• Residency – you’re a Nigerian or have resident status.
• Your university or college – you’re studying at an approved university or college (studying a course approved for funding).
• Your course – you’re studying a recognised full-time course e.g. a bachelors degree, a masters degree or a Higher National Diploma (HND).
